    Hi Everyone,

Does anybody have any information on the pricing for the MXF option?

We recently purchased the CatDV 8.1 Professional Edition, and now realize that we need the MXF capability for our P2 footage.

I can only seem to find a general description on the Squarebox website, no pricing.

    Thanks in advance.

    Try Calibrated Software. Works great.

FYI, I have no affiliation with these folks. Just a user.

Thanks for that, we have already downloaded it…. but what we are really looking for is pricing on the catdv option that allows us to use the Calibrated software.

Umm, don’t think there an option in CatDV for that, which is to say…

CatDV uses Quicktime to playback media. The Calibrated Software codecs give Quicktime the ability to playback your P2 files, ergo, CatDV has that ability.

Perhaps I am not understanding what you are asking?

MXF support for CatDV is really a two part solution as Marvin points out. The MFX components for CatDV and a suitable codec for playback in quicktime. CatDV option manages P2 for example natively all the way to archive while codec extensions for quicktime like Calibrated make the files playable.

You may contact me directly for list pricing and for a reseller info in North America.

According to an email we received from Rolf at CatDV, we can purchase the MXF option directly from CatDV so we can natively import P2 material. He sent us a new trial license of CatDV that unlocks this option and it works great.

The problem right now is that we’re running a trial version of the software and nobody at CatDV is contacting us to tell us how to re-purchase the license so we can continue on with the database. I already purchased a full license of CatDV, but now we’re stuck running in demo mode again and we’re getting no answers from CatDV on how to purchase the upgrade so we can continue on.

At this point it’s really getting frustrating and not the type of customer support I’m used to with other folks we deal with.

Walter we are on the phone with them and your editor john at your office fixing this as we speak. It also sounds like someone also installed the wrong software from Calibrated – the email states there is a Calibrated logo watermark over his video – that means he installed one of the Calibrated{Q} Decode codecs – which is not necessary and not meant for computers with Final Cut Pro installed. You would still need to purchase and install Calibrated{Q} MXF Import (or MXF4MAC) to playback the MXF files within CatDV:
