MXF Metadata
Hello all,
I understand that not all the fields available in the MXF metadata are acknowledged in FCP when files are imported or logged and transferred, but I have noticed that when I change the User Clip name in P2CMS and upload it into the HPX 3000 (enabling all the fields and check boxes applicable), when I view the P2 files in QT each recorded file has the user clip name at the top of the window, but I cannot see a way of getting FCP to recognise that field, instead all that is available is the Global ID.
Does anyone know why Quicktime player can use the User Clip ID, but FCP cannot? -

FCP can, with third party software. But who knows why Apple does what it does.
Raylight allows you to see the data as a slate on frame 2
MXF4QT allows you to import all the metadata into FCP.
HDLog allows you to do the same, and modify and add metadata.Avid maps this all automatically. Why doesn’t FCP? Lord knows.
