mxf files in FCP 5.1??????????
I’ve read different posts that ask this similiar question, however i can’t seem to get it to work? Ive read in order to import mxf files from an external firewire drive i need to go to “log and transfer”? is that only for FCP 6? because I’m not seeing it, so im assuming so. can anyone help me on IMPORTING MXF FILES FROM A FIREWIRE DRIVE INTO FCP 5.1 PLEASE!!! thanks everyone!

Where did you get the MXF files from, and how? If they came from a P2 or XDCam camera, then they need to have the right driver from either Sony or Panasonic, and they need to be in a specific file structure for each format.
If all you have is a bunch of MXF files dumped onto a hard drive without the rest of the folders & support files, that’s much more complicated, and you may be out of luck.
