I am sort of a beginer when it comes to HD formats, and have a question regarding getting HD footage into FCP 6.06

Some information I am waiting to receive back from the client, but it is taking a while for them to answer and I would like to ask for help as it is:
The cameraman had originally told me they shot in DVCPRO HD 720p.
But I believe this is not the case… I don’t know what is the camera brand/model/format (waiting for them to tell me) that was used, so I am a little in the dark here. I have received the hard drive, which contains several folders organized by dates and memory cards. Each card has the following structure:

    (card 1 folder)
    LASTCLIP.TXT
    CONTENTS

    (CONTENTS folder)
    AUDIO
    CLIP
    ICON
    PROXY
    VIDEO
    VOICE
    LASTCLIP.TXT

    (VIDEO folder)
    000324.MXF
    00010Z.MXF
    0004I5.MXF
    0002YX.MXF

There are things inside the other auxiliary folders (AUDIO, CLIP, ICON) but I think this might be enough for somebody to help me get the footage into FCP. Do I use SONY’s XDCAM transfer software? Do I use Log & Transfer? I don’t seem to have any success with either and I think I might need to install some third-party codec/plugin.. Any help will be much appreciated!
