I can’t seem to find the AE effect for this. But I’m making a documentary about WWII, and I want to show German rearmement in terms of tanks, planes, ships, etc multiplying in number on the screen.

What’s the AE effect for multiplying. In Apple Motion I would use “scale over life” but I have no idea what command to use for multiplying an object in AE.

    Thanks very much in advance.

You could try the Redgiant software plugin, echospace

Besides the above mentioned I would try Particular (or any other particle system that accepts custom particles) with custom particles or duplicating the layer and using Plane Space from Red Giant. Depending your type of animation, Card Dance with a gradient map applied to a layer where the object is multiplied and set in a grid may be an option.
