MUST see for Mograph artists
Posted by Chris Smith on April 20, 2006 at 3:35 pmMaxon has just announced a new module called ‘mograph’ for Cinema 4D that does incredibly complex things that normally take a ton of work or keyframing.
Check it here:

April 20, 2006 at 8:11 pmComing from a Maya world.. I am seeing more and more that I should learn Cinema 4d.
All I hear from C4D users is how great it is.
Whereas “f&#*ing Maya” is a part of my daily vernacular. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great tool.. but it is SOOO picky.
Anyway… can anyone suggest some decent training materials for a migrating user?

April 20, 2006 at 9:04 pmIf you want to be a good motion graphics artist, and not just an AE specialist, yes, you need to learn a 3D app.
In my opinion.

C4dCafe has tons of tutorials for starters, and advanced users as well.

April 21, 2006 at 2:56 amI’d say the thread is very on topic. AE cow to me seems to be 1/2 motion graphics and 1/2 AE specific. C4D is a very common motion graphics tool.
Harry,
I used Maya for 4 years. I downloaded the demo of C4D last year and was hooked whithin 10 minutes. I didn’t leave the manual for a week. Now I live by the program ESPECIALLY for mograph. But even if I did regular 3D I would still use C4D. I can do the same things I did in Maya in a fraction of the time with a far better internal renderer. You should check it out. Not to mention it’s practically seamless integration with AE.
