Music Video Transitions
Posted by Kris Dawson on October 28, 2009 at 11:21 pmI’ve been trying to figure out for sometime how some of this motion graphic based transitions are done in some music videos. I have an example included, please let me know if it’s a plugin or done by hand.

October 29, 2009 at 1:01 pmAre you talking about the clips that flip. This is how it is done:
Select the clip. Select the Adjust Anchor Point tool which is the tool below the select tool. In the canvas move the anchor point over the the edge of the clip that you want the rotation to move around. Then select the Adjust 3D Transform tool or hit F1 and adjust the rotation of the X or Y to get the desired look. Hope this is what you where looking for.

October 29, 2009 at 1:37 pmYeah, thanks for the response. Now do I just make a clip appear after it flips in is place for a transitions. Such as keyframing the opacity to go for 0 to 100% directly as I might do in Combustion?

October 29, 2009 at 2:35 pmGood point. Let me alter my original answer.
Add a camera. Place the front and back of the clip in a group. Make the back clips Y rotation 180. Adjust the group’s anchor point. Then rotate the group. Best of luck.
