Hi, we are going to do some video production at music festivals. We will have 4 live XDcams and 3 large projections. What kind of equipment do we generally need to be able to strem the live signals to the projections and switch between the signals, and to be able to record it? I’m total novice in this, so be kind..:-) Thanks

Well in essence you will need a video switcher, preview monitors, and lines to the switcher from the cameras, and then out to the projector. The technicalities get a bit more complex .

What method do you intend to come out of the camera SDI?
Are you going to use CCU’s?
What signal type are you going to send to the projectors?
How much money do you have in the budget?

The most obvious route is to go to a local staging company and give them your budget and expectations and learn from them.

Thanks for reply, since we have XDCamEx1, we cannot use CCU. We will go SDI out of the cameras, we would like to stream it and record in FullHD. To the projectors we can go either SDI or DVI… We aren’t limited with money right now, so please point me to some basic solution and some ideal solution for what we need… Thanks

not sure if this too late, but we use the same cameras with the Panasonic AV HS400 switcher which will give you HD-SDI in and out, great signal path and multiviewer built in which will show you all your cameras, preview and program on one SDI monitor
