Multiple sequences with MultiCam editing
The weddings I edit are divided into 4 parts:
1. The Ceremony (about 20 minutes).
2. Dancing until first course (about 30 minutes).
3. Dancing until second course (about 40 minutes).
4. Dancing until end of wedding (2.5 – 3 hours).I have 4 sequences for the multicam editing (AB-Roll), each part of the wedding on its own sequence.
Someone told me that it’s better for the program to have one big sequence with the whole wedding on it, rather then split up, smaller sequences.
Is this true or not? If it is… would this be only for Premiere or would it be true for any editing program?

My workflow is similar. I export each sequence as Mpeg 2 DVD and import into Encore. Each sequence gets its own timeline and menu chapter. But my logic is only that is would be easier to make a last minute correction to one sequence rather than render the whole thing again.
Shooting weddings wears me out!
