Multiple lines on stroked path.
Hi folks,
I’m trying to work out a way to stroke many lines along a path in a controlled way.
Imagine having a path, perhaps with a loop in it, then wanting to draw a rainbow along that path, with each colour being a separate entity.
Or perhaps the lettering on a 70’d disco record sleeve.
Can’t seem to dig up much about that?
Any ideas?

You need to look into using shape layers and repeaters. In conjuction with color map below you could probably make that 70’s disco look. Also you can change text layers into shape layers if you need the text to be repeated.

If you can live with the same colours appearing each side of the line, then you can just add multiple strokes to a line, making each one pregressively fatter as you go, like this:
…which is actually a whole bunch of strokes over each other.– Paul

I’ll have a play tomorrow.Out of interest, how would it usually be done? I’m presuming set up in illustrator and then animated?
