I’m working on a project that was shot on the Panasonic HVX in two frame rates, 23.976 and 59.94. The movie is to be edited and shown at 23.976; the reason we shot 59.94 on some shots is to have the option for slow motion. I have two questions:

    1) When I drag a 59.94FPS clip into a 23.98FPS sequence it appears as though the 59.94FPS clip gets converted to 23.98FPS without any slowdown. This is what I want to do for most of the 59.94FPS clips, is there any reason to not use this method (choppy playback, flickering etc…)?

    2) If I wanted to convert the 59.94FPS clips to 23.98 without dropping frames (basically I want it to play in slow motion), what would be the best way to do this?

As always, any and all help is appreciated. Thank you.

    My gear:
    Mac OSX 10.5.1
    Mac Pro, 2 x 2.66 Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    Final Cut Studio 2
