Multiple DVD project – Encoding time issues
I am working on a project right now in PP2 that involves producing multiple (30-45 per day) DVD’s in as short of a time period as possible. The project consists of 5-7 minutes of fully edited footage that will remain constant on every DVD with 3-4 minutes of video that is unique per customer. I am having issues figuring out a workflow that will eliminate the need for Premiere to re-ecode that 5 minutes worth of static content on each burn cycle. Currently for a finished 11 minute project I am looking at approx 9 minutes encoding time then less then a minute to burn the DVD, I am hoping to get the encoding time to sub-3 minutes if at all possible.
I have tried exporting the edited video as an MPEG2 DVD project and placing it in the timeline on a new project but it wants to render that file also in addition to the new captured footage that I am adding to the timeline. I can not just place the finished footage as its own chapter because it needs to be a single video with the timeline built as 1 minute edited, 2 minutes unique, 3 minutes edited, 1 minute unique, 2 minutes edited.
Any pointers on what I need to do to clean up my workflow or anything else to reduce my encoding times are very appreciated!
