Multiple drawing lines along a path ?
Hey guys I am new to this forum and I searched the whole evening (6h) 😉 if there is a thread, which tells me how to handle my problem.
Here is my problem. I made an illustration with Adobe Illustrator, then I added it to After Effects CS5. Now I want to animate the lines of my illustration.

The black lines should be drawn, but not one after an other. Just at the same time, but the startpoints are the left top corner and the right bottom corner. The end is in the middle of the picture.
Is there a way to animate this with a MASK PATH and STROKE ? cause drawing a mask with “T” parts and behavior like a growing tree is not possible ?

They are out of the screenshot 😉 here is a new screenshot, which shows my idea of working along the lines.

The blue path is the only path with the stroke effect. But when I change the effect to all masks, I dont have the result of a TREE GROWING animation. The stroke lines then will start everywhere a MASK PATH starts.
Now I want to know, is there a way to combine the maskpath to one mask… or can I control the start time of each mask separatly and make a difference in how fast the lines grow. Please help me, I go crazy with this 😉
