I have been told that I can’t send projects with multiclips in them to Color.

This makes my project, that has about 90 hours of raw footage, all shot with two cameras, about twice as time consuming as I thought it would be because we are planning on going to color.

I am wondering, (assuming that it’s true that color won’t deal with multiclips,) if there is a workflow to conform projects edited with multiclips back to masters that is relatively fast. Basically, if it would take me less time to conform than the extra than the extra time (weeks) it takes me to watch and edit all my footage from both camera’s independently, then I think I’d like to explore that option.

Any ideas anyone? Also, big request to FCP, lets get Color to work with multiclips. It’s such a great feature and it’s a shame to not be able to use it!!

Color cannot accept multiclip timelines. It can accept a standard timeline with multiple video tracks.

You could break down your multiclip timeline into a standard timeline or maybe a series of timlines and send those into Color.

Keep in mind that Color always refers to the original media so if you captured each camera as one long roll, Color might be quite slow to work in. Also, ensure that all speed changed video is prepared before sending into Color if you have any.

Probably not the answer you wanted.. but at least there is this..
To be honest, having used both methods, color is better, but this isn’t terrible.. and it’s really not that slow but you can CC your multiclips.
