8 Core MacPro, 4GB RAM, Kona LHe, latest software all around.
10 camera multiclip, all DV 29.97fps, footage split between internal 3TB RAID (RAID-0) and external 2TB FW 800 RAID (also RAID-0).
Everything plays back fine on the viewer and canvas in FCP, but the external NTSC monitor (component SD connection from the LHe) starts in sync but eventually lags more and more behind. I’m assuming this is because I need faster drives but it’s weird to me that the canvas and viewer keep up fine.
Are faster drives my only solution? The client shows up tomorrow and it’d be helpful if his monitor could be in sync.
    Thanks for any thoughts.

LHe was in the wrong slot. (pre-2008 MacPro) Moved it to slot 3 (where it is supposed to be) and all is well.
I got suspicious when it couldn’t even play a single DV clip without lagging.
So, chalk it up to me rushing through the install process.
Sorry to waste your reading time but maybe this is a lesson for others.
