Multiclip nightmare in FCPX
I am trying to create a multi clip to edit in FCPX from 2 40 minute long clips both shot on CANON XA10 cameras at a music gig. When I Create a Syncronised clip it is fine but when I Create a Multiclip I get 1 1h20m clip with one camera clip immediately after the other on the timeline. I can only view one camera in the Angle Viewer. Why doesn’t the multi clip actually make 1 40 minute long clip with the 2 shots so I can edit? Any ideas why this isn’t working would be amazing, I can’t find anything on the web at all. Thanks

Did you shoot one video with two cameras, or the same video twice with one camera? Also, how are you choosing to sync the clips? Multiclips can be built in a number of ways, but without more info, it’s hard to help.

PS: BTW, it’s not a nightmare. Just open up your multiclip in the multiclip editor, add a new track and drag the second angle down to the new track. Then sync manually, or with markers or use the autosync feature to bring the clips into alignment and all will be good.

Have you actually set the angle name metadata in each clip so that FCPX knows you have two different angles?
