  • Multicam & split P2 clip, how to?

First Multi-cam, first real P2 job. For those of you familiar with Multi-cam, I have a conundrum. I have some P2 clips that have been recorded over both cards which comes in as two clips, what I want to do is merge those clips together without an export and reimport. The other two tapes were shot on SDX900s and are on one consecutive take brought in from tape. Syncing using in points w/clappers (no jam sync).

    So I have:

Cam A Clip 1 (15 minute continuous clip from tape) SDX900
Cam B Clip 1 (15 minute continuous clip from tape) SDX900
Cam C Clip1 & 1a (the timecode is continuous, but multi-cam sees these as two separate clips and stacks them as two different angles, both clips together total 15 minutes)

Is there a way so that the multi-cam mode can see Cam C clip 1 & 1a as one clip? Something to do with a multi-cam sequence?

    Thanks for any insight.

    Jeremy

I’m a day late (and maybe a dollar short) but
if the clip is named 1 and 1a, that will cause
the creation of a two camera multiclip.
I’m not at FCP right now so forgive me,
but go to the clips in the browser and go down
the columns until you see angle. In clip 1, but 1
in the angle column and clip 1a, put 1 as well.
    Now make a new multiclip.
There probably isn’t anything in the
angle column unless you put it there.
    See if this helps.
