Multicam noobie
I´m new here so please give me some straight answers,reading a lot but I guess it takes time.Generally I have such issues:
1.Multicam-in all guides it shows it,but I don´t seem to see it in my program(Vegas 10). Do I need to load first 2-3 files to activate this function so I could actually start making multicam video?
2.I want to load some vids from PC but they don´t seem to be supportet in Vegas,ex.AVI file. Do I need any special converted file for Vegas? Or do I need to load them directly ONLY from camera? -

I’m not in front of Vegas right now, but, if you select the tracks you want to multi-cam edit, then go to the tools menu you should see (near the bottom) prepare multi-cam tack, or something like that. Then, select enable multi-cam editing. (Not sure on the wording) Look in the help system for details.
An AVI is a ‘container’ for a wide variety of video formats. You need to analyze with a utility like gspot.exe (available on the web) and locate the codec that was used to make the file. Beware, do not install codec packs, the will replace paid-for Sony supplied codecs with free or hacked codecs, and your videos will be less quality. If you have codec questions ask here.

…and if editing of multicamera projects is what you’re going to do often, consider using Plural Eyes for automatic synchronization.

You need at least two video tracks (already synchronized) to generate a multi-camera track. Then use Tools => Multicamera => Enable multi-camera editing. Following this, select between two and four video tracks. Then use Tools => Multicamera => Create Multicamera Track. Please note that you will lose the selected video tracks when the multicamera track is created. I always use duplicate tracks to avoid this “loss”. I do mute the original video tracks while working with the multicamera track..
You must determine what codec the AVI files are using, and ensure that the codec is available to Vegas. It will then, in most cases, be able to access and use your files. If Vegas can load your files directly from the camera, that is probably the best route to use.

Oki,thank you very much for all your tips. Nobody mention differencies between programs-that´s what I was trying to say.I have Vegas Platinum HD version(there is NO multicam editing there!),so now I guess I need to purchase Vegas Pro(There there´s multicam).To know this would make my day much easier in the begining.
All tips are very welcome so I can start to laborate with my projects.
Unfortunatelly I don´t understand completely what you ppl are saying about AVI and codecs.How can I know which codecs Vegas needs/reads???
Maybe any link?
But I guess I need more reading by myself.
