Multicam clip angle is grey; cannot insert a clip into it
I have 3 imported clips that I named “Left,” “Center,” and “Right,” recorded at an event earlier today. In the Inspector, the Camera Angles are set to 1, 2, and 3, respectively. In the Browser, all three clips play normally. I selected all three and created a new Multicam Clip, then opened this Multicam Clip in the Angle Editor.
The Angle Editor shows 3 angles, identified as 1, 2, and 3, as expected. Angle 2 contains the Center clip; angle 3 contains the Right clip. However, Angle 1 is entirely grey from end to end — no video, no audio, just grey. In the Angle Viewer, Angle 1 is black from end to end; the other two angles appear normal and are properly sync’d.
I tried creating a new Multicam Clip with only the “Center” and “Right” clips, and then in the Angle Editor I added an angle. This new Untitled Angle was entirely black. I selected the “Video” icon for this new angle. With the Playhead at zero, I selected the “Left” clip in the Browser and pressed “E” to insert the “Left” clip into the new angle, which then turned from black (empty) to grey end-to-end, just as it had in the first Multicam Clip.
I’d be grateful for any thoughts about what is causing this, and how to work around it and add my “Left” clip to my Multicam Clip. (I’ve done hundreds of Multicam projects, and never seen this before.)
Thanks,
Bill
