  • Multibridge with PCI Express – just a dream?

I too am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new Multibridge with PCI Express. Are there any details regarding it’s upcoming release? On the BlackMagic website it has been listed as ‘Available Soon’ for a couple months now. This would lead me to believe the release is just around the corner.

Are there any recommended motherboards for the 4-lane card? I currently have the MSI K8N Neo4-F with an available PCI-E slot. I am hoping it will meet the requirements.

    Hi Peter,

“Soon” is a wonderful word 😉 At NAB 2005, the PCI Express versions of Multibridge were announced and it was stated that they should ship this (northern) summer. I think we’re still pretty much on track or not much behind so they “should” be available “soon” 🙂

As for recommended motherboards, the engineers have not provided us with a list yet and I suspect we won’t have a list until we’re virtually ready to ship.

For the Mac is it worth it cost wise to wait and get the Multibridge Express ($2,500.00) and add the PCI Bridge card (???) or just go with a normal Multibridge ($2,000.00) and add a Decklink HD card ($595.00)?
