Multibridge Pro Fan Replacement
I just wanted to share some good info with anyone out there looking to replace their Multibridge Pro fan… one at our studio completely died and I had the most difficult time finding a replacement–even Blackmagic Design offered no assistance–stating simply that that particular fan is “difficult to find”. Well, finally I turned to eBay and found this:

I’m happy to say that it arrived in a timely manner and is working great. The fan fits exactly in place of the original, but its wiring differs (2 wires instead of 3). So, we simply spliced it into a small transformer and power it externally rather than through the Multibridge …which is also nice, because now I can turn it off anytime!
Bottom line: It’s not exact, but it fits in the Multibridge housing, is inexpensive and quieter than the original. Hope this post is helpful.

Hello James,
thank you for sharing this info but be careful, less noise means less RPM and less airflow, you could risk a Multibridge Pro failure (and don’t forget to switch on the second PSU 🙂
If you’d want to not to use the second PSU, I think you can connect the new fan to the original fan socket, the third wire is the one to monitor fan speed.

Said fan replacement ran nicely for about two months, then began making a hideous noise and stopped working altogether. Paolo, you were right to lay down caution. Or perhaps one pays for what they get.James Brady
