I’m editing a job where I’m switching from video track one and Video track 2. (2 cams footage)

My gosh! PP is very very slow. When I made a cut have to wait 10 seconds to continue playing back and so on for every task.

Auto save also is very slow. Seems is a very heavy task to PP.
Apart of this, never had a problem before.

HP media Center, Athlon 64 3400, 1gig ram, 250g HD. I made a defrag recently to capture & operating disc.

    I don’t imagine what could be….

What are you capturing the footage to? DV, an uncompress 10-bit or 8-bit codec, Quicktime codec? How it was rendered to HDD can make a alot of difference to the workflow speed.

I edit 4 camera projects almost everday, without an issue. A few things:

    1) Media settings: Where did you acquire your footage from? What are the properties of the footage?
    2) Project setings: What are your project settings?
    3) You mention you have a 250gb drive. Do you only have ONE drive installed in the system?

The footage is dv from a VX 2100. The player is a miniDV cam. I have a 3 HD; one for the OPerating system, other for assets (music, anim, etc) the third is for capture and rendering. Capture HD: WD 7200rpm, 8mb buffer.
Project setting? What kind of settings? I use the default. It works ok other times.
Does the video card have to be? Humm seems is little slow. Nvidia FX 5200, 128 memory…
But in my other editing Pc I have an nvidia GS 7300 PCI express 512ram a dual core 4200 Athlon, 1.5 ram, 3 hard discs and the same thing happen. PP2 get slugish from time to time.
    So…
