multi format editing
I’m working on a project that includes fashion photos and clips. The photos have various formats and so do the clips.
I dropped everything down on a HDV timeline just to have a quick look and I have to say there are no problems with the photos. But with the clips it’s a different story all together. I have 3 clips two with a P.A.R. of 720 x 540 and one with 520 x ?? can’t recall now.
When I play the clips on a DVD player they are acceptable although the quality it’s not the best to start but my client it’s not worried about that anyway.
I’ve tried to create a new timeline with the P.A.R. of the clips then off course there’s the issue of resizing all the photos, and if you keep in mind that they are photos made for print I rather work with a format such as HDV timeline to preserve as much as possible the angles and cuts od the original photos.
What’s the best way to have in the same timeline the photos that look great (most important), the clips can even be in the screen smaller with dark bands all around. I’m not trying to improve the clips that’s not feasable. I thought that with FCP S2 when you use multiformats in the same timeline the first format you drop in the timeline would call the shots (apologise for my very crude description)
One last thing, I’ve been told that there are no needs of any kind of effects the aim it’s only to show the collections to the buyers while they browse around the showrooms.I had a look trough the search section off course, but I couldn’t find what I’m looking for
