  MTS files (again)

  I love the quality of MTS files (AVCHD) but both Premiere and after FX are disasters when dealing with them. I cannot scratch the video to choose an imput point, it takes ages to render 1 minute of video.
  I use 1/4 display resolution and I have a new & powerful laptop with super processors, lots of ram and the latest geforce.
  Is there a way to improve the previewing of a video in the timeline or trim window?
