I attempted to import a .MTS file, which is not usual for me, and got a popup saying that the dolby codec needed to be installed in order to import this file. I clicked OK, as it said it will be installed automatically. The file was then able to be imported; but the sound is muted (no icon for sound on that file). However, I know that file does have sound because it plays in Quicktime just fine. How can I get the MTS sound to play in AE? I have version 17.2 and am running it on Mac OS Mojave. (Not sure that’s relevant.)

Edit: I’ve downloaded Uniconverter and PavTube trials to convert the MTS to mov, but they either convert 1/3 of the video or output a watermark. Any free solutions out there for this issue?

    Thanks!
