Going from a P4 with no PCI-Express x16 slots (or needing more than one x16 slot) may not be too painful after all. A simple motherboard swap that will cost $229. It’s got potential, no?

MSI P4N Diamond Motherboard ($229 Street Price)
Single Socket 775 for Intel P4 or P4 Extreme Edition
Nvidia nForce4 SLI Intel Edition Chipset

    2 PCI Express x16
    1 PCI Express x1
    2 PCI 32-bit/33Mhz
Dual Channel DDR2 533/667 RAM up to 4GB
Integrated SATA-II Controller, 4 drives (supports Raid 0 or 1)
Dual fast ATA 133 (typicall for CD/DVD)

Only “catch” is whether Multibridge Extreme requires dual CPU for HD capture, or if a P4/3.2 and higher is ok as long as there is enough hard disk to support the i/o?
