MPEG4 encoding
Anyone know why Windows doesn’t read MP4 files output from FCP5 or Quicktime 7? I’ve tried all kind of formats and bitrates and I just can’t them playing in a Windows environment.
I’m outputting the files from a Tiger-running 2.5Ghz G5, 8Gb RAM etc. No probs with the machine. The MP4s have to played on a Sony PSP (the game console). Both Windows and the PSP don’t like Apple-exported/authored MP4s. PSP uses a bit rate of 768kbps or lower, and even at, like, 64kbps it still doesn’t like the files.
I’ve tried MP basic, improved ISMA, the lot. I know WMP10 doesn’t do MP4 (yet) but the PSP is designed to run MPs only.
Any ideas anyone? Or any contacts you might have who might know?
