mpeg4 and google
after spending the better part of the day yesterday reading on the web, I read that the free dvix codec complies with the mpeg4 h264 protocol, so I created a 1-min. video and tried to post it on video.google.com; just for fun, I used 32kbs mono audio instead of 64 kbs stereo, as google wanted. Nevertheless, they posted it and it looks tolerable OK for streaming video, and the audio (me playing the guitar) sound pretty good too. my mistake – I couldn’t get the divx codec to work in Vegas; actually, I used xvid, which claims to be compatible with divx
