February 16, 2006 at 5:33 pmif you’re going to launch it to veiw it you need to remember that mpeg2 is a dvd format. if you don’t want DVD studio to view it then get another mpeg2 supported veiwer and set it as the default player.

February 16, 2006 at 6:31 pmIf you have Compressor you should be able to at least encode an MPEG2 file without having DVDSP. I just don’t know if you can get Compressor without having to buy DVDSP. QT 7 Pro will allow you to play back MPEG2 files but I can’t see an MPEG2 export component within Quicktime. The closest thing is MPEG4, but that’s not what you want.

February 16, 2006 at 8:57 pmIf you want to do an export with Quicktime go to the Apple website & install the component that says
‘Reinstall Quicktime 7.01 over 7.04’This will add the capability of exporting MPEG2 files from QT 7.01 as QT 7.04 they have removed that feature
