MPEG video files from camera won’t work in project
Hello,
I have taken video using a SONY cybershot CAMERA (not camcorder) and tried to view it in Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9. I can hear the audio but the video shows up as solid red color no picture. The properties of the project are set at NTSC Widescreen. I have been able to do this when I used Version 6 without problems. Does the Version 9 not read MPEG files? When I use my camcorder the video is MPEG 2 and that seems to work.Any ideas?

Okay I’ll start but someone else will have to finish because I know what it is but never worked with MJPEG (Not MPG) files, so to be honest I don’t know how to fix them. That’s probably what you got and they’re going to have to be converted to use in Vegas. I don’t believe they’re supported.
Hopefully John or Terry or one of the other guru’s will help out here.

Hi & thanks for your response. I checked again and it says it is a MPEG file and when I check the properties it gives me a list of programs to use to open it. Vegas is not listed but Windows Movie Maker is compatible. I was wondering about the need to CONVERT the file but can anyone tell me how to do this?

Hey guys,
I’m not sure why but it seems to be working fine now! Go figure! I’m not a computer techy and I always forget to try and shut down and restart the computer and program if something isn’t working quite right. Thanks for your time!With My Regards!
