Alright, what am I missing here… Can anyone lend a hand regarding MPEG Streamclip?

I’ve downloaded MPEG Streamclip onto my MacPro OS 10.6.8. In reading the info for MPEG Streamclip nowhere does is say it is compatible with AVCHD files, and sure enough when I try to import one of my clips (from NX5U) I get an error message saying “unrecognized file type”. I thought that was the point of using this program to convert files from this camera?

Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

Thank you for your help, and happy Independence Day if you’re in the USA!

MPEG Streamclip doesn’t do AVCHD files at all. It has many other tricks but that’s not one of them.

Hmmm, I thought a lot of people were recommending using MPEG Streamclip with the NX5U (hence, AVCHD). But then again, as we were just talking about in another post if you shoot in SD then the files aren’t AVCHD so maybe that’s what I’m thinking of.
