    Hi,
I’ve always used mpeg streamclip for transcoding footage from dvds or EOS 5D files but I never thought about it for transcoding from other sources or downscaling.
I’ve read about it’s powerful scaling filter and I’m doing some tests but I noticed a weird issue with DvcPro HD anamorphic footage.

DVCPro HD captured files (coming straight from my scratch folder) are seen and transcoded correctly: they are 960 x 720 pixels and they appear distorted so when I want to trancode to H264 1280 x 720 for vimeo or ProRes 1280 x 720 the scaling filter is applied.

When anamorphic DVCPro HD content comes from a final cut export (e.g. a timeline edited and exported as DvcPro HD) it is seen as a full raster movie so exporting to 1280 x 720 does not apply any scaling filter and the result is horrible (pixelation and more).
I also get worse results when downscaling DvcPro HD than a full raster codec.

I know that I could use compressor (as I ever did) but I’m guessing if it’s just an mpeg streamclip “bug” or there’s a way to fix that?
