I recently asked a question concerning choppy audio when importing .m2t files (output from Upshift). I have a question (probably unrelated, but you never know) concerning mpeg audio in general.

Is there an easy way to detect/see which mpeg plug-ins are available and being used? When I try to open mpeg audio track (from a Vegas session) or an entire mpeg file directly into Sound Forge, I receive an offer to purchase an mpeg plug-in. Should this be necessary? It made me wonder if mpegs (specifically the audio portion) are being handled properly in Vegas as well. I amusing Movie Studio 9.0 Platinum.

Any light you can shed on this would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not sure if this works in Movie Studio Platinum but in Vegas Pro you can right-click on an event and select Properties and then go to the General tab and it will tell you what media plug-in its using for that event’s media.

Thanks – that did indeed work, and it appears I’ve got the right plug-in. So I still don’t know what the problem is, but I at least I know one more thing that the problem isn’t.
