MP4 Twitching in Sony Vegas 10,0
Hey guys,
I’ve been video editing very extensively and have come across a very unfamiliar problem.
I have loaded an mp4 into vegas and the human body movement is violently twitching. Now, I when I watch the video in WMP before editing it it seems fine. No twitching, no jerky movement, no problems. Once loaded into vegas the screen shows twitchy galore, even when rendered this problem still exists.
It is by no means my computer:
2500k
8GB RAMwhich I’ve been doing 1080p High Definition Raw videos for the last 2 months with absolutely problem. So I’m pretty much asking if anyone knows a fix to this? I want the option of converting the mp4 to another video format to be considered last as I’ve already put this clip on the time line (50mins) and lined it up perfectly with other images/music which I would have to completely redo if I had to throw the clip back in.

Out of curiosity, have you tried any of the following? If so, what were the results?
1) Doing a “dynamic RAM preview” of an area where the twitching occurs?
2) Rendered a smaller portion of the video?
3) played the timeline slowly. Eg, use the right/left cursor keys to move slowly across the timeline to see what happens?

Unfortunately dyanmic preview doesn’t fix this, and rendering a small or large portion still has the same effect.
Rolling over slowly still shows the twitchy/skipping happening with the video =(
The thing is the mp4 is 25fps, so it shouldn’t be skipping/twitching like it is?

No, if rendered to mp4 it shouldn’t be twitching like that.
However, if the original video is mpeg2 format, it could because I recently learned mpeg2 format videos aren’t that accurate with the frames.
If you play the original video in a player like quicktime and move frame-by-frame, what happens?

I have fixed the problem. The codec it was using (compresseddll) is complete trash. Deleting that holder in my FILE I/O meant that it tried to use another codec to play (SONY AVV). Fixed the problem!
I have no idea why they would even put that rubbish with their program knowing it’s going to be trash tier…

Yes. My computer is completely stock, no rubbish codec packs (or any third party codec packs) for that matter.
No idea why they would implement that crap.
