    [Eric Ben] ” I know there is a v.5 for FCPX but there’s no way I’m touching that… 🙂 “

Why wouldn’t you touch that? Apple Compressor 4 is an independent $49 purchase. You can simply buy it and use it on it’s own without FCP X. (…or will it disrupt your FCP 7 workflow? I don’t know I don’t use FCP 7)

I just want to point out that the Brorsoft web site has an extremely poor rating on Web Of Trust as NOT being Trustworthy. I would seriously question even going to that site and would never download anything from it. I’m going to guess that are not selling a licensed ProRes encoder.

(BTW, If you’re not using the WOT plug-in for your Safari browser I can highly recommend it. It will do a good job of keeping you away from disreputable sites that pose as legitimate ones.)

Thanks! I mean I wouldn’t touch FCP 10. That may open up another argument but I’m another one of those who beleve 7 to be a better interface. As for Brorsoft, I downloaded it and am using it on my system without flaw. No bugs, no maleware, no problem. I’m always looking for options, hence my (first time) posting here.

From a workflow standpoint only, if you considered using FCP 10, you could’ve just dropped the mp4 on your time line and let FCP do the rendering in the background while you were editing away. I make this point not to say FCP 10 is better or worse, but that it could’ve simplified your workflow and saved time in this instance.

I was going to say the same thing. If you were using FCP X you wouldn’t be making this post, you’d already be editing your native MP4 video. Just something to consider.
