MP4 import
Here’s a puzzle. I have a bunch of .mp4 movies ripped from DVs. There are all the same size and settings. All the quicktime “get info” stuff is the same. They were batched processed so they should be the same. However, some import into Final Cut Express 4 perfectly, while other get a file format error. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Yep I came accross this a while ago and it has completely stumped me – I use handbrake and mpegstreamclip but what I have found which is crazy is the avi settings work perfectly – remember you will need the render everything so unless you are just grabbing bits that’s ok if you have to use large chunks then convert everything to a native codec fir fce – hope this helps
