    Soooo.

I was fortunate enough to be able to pitch my school to rent us a Sony ex1 for a couple days and i got my “wish”. little did i know the head aches it would cost.

Mp4 shot from the Sony ex1 and cs3 done like to go together I gather.

    we shot at 1080 24fps.

Is there a way so that i can encode mp4 to a codec that will work well in premiere/after affects? a codec that will allow me to use sereral layers and many filters and preview easily. am I asking for tooo much?

I am willing to compramise slightly on the quality for a file type that allows me to be dynamic with filters and layering.

what are the best converters for free? and what should i convert the mp4 files so they are edditing friends?

some of the footage will be used as a composite

    Teto~

Convert to a lossless codec like lagarith before importing into PPro.

um…all I can say is have you ever updated your CS3 install?

I edit ex1 material natively all the time…it’s quite good. I’m in the middle of a spot right now and it’s all 1080 24p.
