    Hello everyone,

I have set markers to the beat of my music track. I know whant to sync my events to them. I have several tracks of events which should all move together when when I shift the events.

I’ve tried variations of post-ripple with poor results. Either my markers shift as well or the markers remain but only the event on the track I’m syncing move.

    any ideas?

Gilles, the only thing I can suggest is to make sure that Auto Ripple is set to Affected Tracks (the first option).
Enable Auto Ripple, select everything (Ctrl+A) on the timeline and move it as desired.
The markers should stay where they are.

    Thanks Mike,

However, i’m not “moving” the entire project, I’m simply adjusting the length of events on a track, one at a time, to match the beats.

In other words, I don’t want to “select-all” and move the entrire thing… simply adjust.

    Does this make sense?

Are you trying to shorten or lengthen individual events?
If so, what I do is double-click the event to highlight it, look at it’s Selection Length in the box at the very bottom right of the Vegas window (there’s 3 of them in a row) and adjust it accordingly.
For example, say the event is 5 seconds long and you want it to be 6 seconds.
    Double-clicking it highlights it.
Click in the Selection Length box and change the time from 00:00:05:00 to 00:00:06:00.
It’s not necessary to type all those numbers in.
Just double-click it to highlight the entire string and type 6.0
    For 6 1/2 seconds, enter 6.15, etc.

If this isn’t what you’re looking to do, then I need some clarification.

    Thanks Mike,
not quite what I’m looking for.

Clarification is in order: I have markers set to the beat, and I want to shorten the a clip and “snap” it’s end to the marker. hence, syncing it.

re:your suggestions though:… interesting. I didn’t know you could change those numberrs on the bot right. I noticed that it doesn’t change the length of the event, only the selection. any way of changing the length of the event? Properties doesn’t seem to have this option.

VASST Ultimate S Lite/Pro can do this with the Photo Montage tool. You can select the events and have them snap to the markers and it can also adjust length to fill to the next marker at the same time. Without a script, you’d just have to adjust the length by hand one at a time.
