Moving .veg files from SVP12 to SVP11 and back
I’m planning to use Red Giant Magic Bullet Looks extensively. The problem is that it doesn’t work properly and is not supported for SVP 12. It is supported for SVP10 and SVP11.
I plan to get SVP10 or SVP11 from e-bay and use it solely for MB Looks as my color correction program. Will there be any problem if I open a v.12 file in SVP 10/11, do my color correction with MBL Looks, save the color corrected .veg file in SVP 10/11, and then open again in v.12?

If I do the final render in SVP 12, will the file (color corrected but not rendered in SVP10/11) render properly with the color corrections intact?

You cannot open an SVP12 veg file in versions 10 or 11. You can do all the work you want in 10/11, and open that veg file in SVP12. You can continue to open the veg in 10/11 as long as you do not save it in SVP12.

Can I export my timeline to another format and do color correction with a different program like premiere, then import back to SVP12?
Can I do this without rendering until the final render in SVP12? -
I don’t know. I do color correction in Vegas with the Color Corrector and Color Curves. Color Corrector has its uses and can sometimes produce dramatic results. I have begun to stress Color Curves recently, and have found it to be very powerful. One of the tricks is to figure out where on the tonal range a correction needs to be made. Another is to know whether you want to adjust primary colors or complementary colors, and whether you want to increase or reduce luminance. I’m not, at this point seeing any need to resort to something like Premiere for color correction. I’m not seeing what it can do that Vegas cannot do.
