I have to make clear (in a schematic way) that the outside surface of a rubber component has to be lubricated with vaseline.
Therefor I made a texture with a bitmap that has the color of the rubber (brown) with a white band over it.
The texture does exactly what I want when I animate the offset U value in the texture tag. (see attached screendump) . . . . . . at least . . . . in Goureaud shading mode (see small strip at the bottom).

In “Interactive Render Region” and final rendering however, nothing is to be seen.

What have I overlooked or done wrong ?

    Problem Solved:

In the texturetag window I had set the “side” value to “front”.
Changing this setting to “both” made the effect show up, I don’t know why, but it works.
