Hi I need to move MPEG data files to a larger drive. I am getting some anxiety about Vegas prompting me over and over again for location of files it cannot find, (do I have to know the name of the original source file for each clip to reassign it? Must I make notes on this?) or can it just prompt me for the NEW directory and FIND them itself? What if you have HUNDREDS of files (which I don’t…..YET!!) Of course, the Sony HELP files have NOTHING to say on this rather pertinent subject, just incredible. What is the best way to do this?

It already knows the file name it’s looking for. All you need to do is point it to the new location. In fact, it can even search for the new location!
