I just got AE 7 and I was wondering if I can just move my plug ins that I bought for AE 6.5 to AE 7.0? I have invigorator and trapcode, can they be moved?

More or less, you can just copy them from the AE 6.5 plug-ins folder to the AE 7 Plug-ins folder, but I wouldn’t suggest it. Many of the plug-ins had to be updated slightly for AE 7, and won’t work properly.

I’d suggest you DL the latest versions and install them.

On the other hand, if they are already at the current version, it should work for most plug-ins.

Should be no problem. Invogorator and Particular require the latest version specially for AE 7 so you may need to install those, but all otehrs should be a safe bet.

I have all my 3rd party plugins in 6.6 in a sub folder called third party. I then created an alias, you can use a shortcut if you’re on windows, and put that alias in the 7 plugins folder. No copying required, and any plugs that needed to be updated to work in 7 will also work in 6. Saved a bunch of time and disk space
