moving multiple mask shapes at once
Posted by Matt on May 19, 2005 at 10:29 pmDoes anyone know if it’s possible to move multiple mask shapes (belonging to the same mask), all at once? Similar to how you can move position keyframes all at once)? Thanks.

May 19, 2005 at 10:38 pmI’m talking about the actually (spatial) points in the comp window – not the timeline keyframes – obviously I know that you can move them…

May 19, 2005 at 11:17 pmIn the timeline select the top mask in the stack then Shift click the bottom mask to select all the masks. Press Command (mac) or Control (pc) T to get the Free Transform box around all of the selected masks. Now you can move them, scale them and rotate them as one. When you’ve finished press Enter or Return to accept the adjustments.

May 20, 2005 at 2:39 amI’m talking about moving multiple mask shapes WITHIN a single mask.
Say I made a square mask on a layer and created mask shape keyframes to move the mask left to right through the center for the frame. Now, what if I wanted that move that whole left to right animation UP to the top of the frame without moving the actual layer? That’s the question. Thanks for the reply though. -

May 20, 2005 at 3:27 amI’m with you now. How about selecting the layer, precomposing using “Leave all attributes”, then moving the layer up in the precomp…

May 20, 2005 at 4:32 amYa, I thought of that but I’d like to know if there’s a way to move the mask shapes themselves…maybe not.
