moving multiple layers.
I’m working on a Comp where I need to move about 600 layers (bits of an image) in a similar fashion to a specified area in another part of the image. Is there a built in or open source script that can make this process easier? ex. randomly generate motion paths to a set of designated range of coordinates.

I don’t think you’ve provided enough info. Do you care where the pieces end up, or just anywhere within the range? What is the range? Do you care how long it takes to get there? Do all the pieces start at the same time and arrive at the same time? Do they all travel at the same speed, or some random speed within a range? Stuff like that.

To clarify,
It doesn’t matter what pieces end up where, just as long as they are within the set range.
The range would be an area about 30px X 200px on a 1920px 1080px comp.
The starting and ending time of the pieces would vary but the velocity could be the same for all layers, but it might be nice to have variance.Hopefully this helps clarify.

Not sure how to answer these questions but i’ll give it a shot.
The start and end times would be determined by a point on the timeline say 15sec, 15.5sec, where the motion path begins to animate. As for the speeds i’m thinking that it would take between 1 and 2 seconds for the object to move to the designated area. Hope this helps.

Heh – OK, let me try this a different way. If you were going to hire someone to do this by hand, what would your EXACT instructions to them be so that they could do it a locked room without any further help from you?

I developed a script, which moves the selected layers to the desired location in timeline. Here it moves the selected layer set to CTI (Current Time Indicator)in the timeline…Is this you want Mark..?? If so let me know I will post my script here…
