What tool/technique would you use if you wanted to show a line with an arrowhead move, grow, change direction, branch off, etc.?

    thanks,

Sounds like you need a 2-D animation program for that.

Mary- I have done a few tv commercials with an exposing line and arrows that point and follow objects.
Can you be more specific ?

I ended up getting pretty much what I needed by messing around in AfterEffects. I wish I knew more about how to use that program.

I will post a link to this project when I’m done. I’m trying a lot of new things.

    thanks.

You “could” do similar effects using just Vegas Pan/Crop or Track Motion and a graphic element with a transparent background created in photoshop, but it depends on what you are trying to achieve- if you are trying to do the “Indiana Jones” style map line that gets tricky, it’s better to use a 2D animation software. I think you can get a really cut down version of ToonBoom studio for free.
