    Hello all!

My shop’s creative services department is looking at making the move from our old Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 machines to Final Cut Pro. This has us all in the early Christmas spirit.

We’re a broadcast news facility. Currently, our News department edits on Grass Valley NLE’s, and just about everything else in house is PC-based. We have licenses for Adobe CS(1) and After Effects CS4…but again, it’s all PC-based. We’re currently shooting on Sony NXCAM’s (AVCHD).

What advice would you give us as we (hopefully) make the Mac plunge in the next few months? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Download the trial of Premiere Pro CS5 and evaluate whether native workflows are important to you. Of course, I am the Adobe guy. 😉

Seriously, do the research for what is the best decision for you. If it’s a choice to move to Mac, that’s great. Evaluate the current state of all the software products and make the decision based on your needs.

    Good luck,
    Dennis
