Moving FCP Project files between Macs
I’m having a problem using a project file I created on one machine to another.
I created a project and completed a sequence on a Mac Book Pro. I have copied the project file across to my Mac Pro and tried to open it with FCP but I’m receiving an error message. The message reads: “File Error: Wrong Type”
One machine is using a full install of FCP Studio, the other is using a custom install missing out some of the templates etc.
I have updated the book to version 5.1.2…the other is not yet updated (could this be the problem?)
Any help very gratefully received.

5.1.2 is not bacwards compatible with even 5.1.1.
Solution.
Use XML to export the 5.1.2 sequence for finishing. In terms of the whole project. Upgrade all the rooms to 5.1.2, that will be the easiest way to go.
With the new release Apple’s cull of Liceneces has started, so we are going to see this question more and more.
