What is the process of moving my AE application to a new computer in a different suite? The primary user is still the same and the office location is no different just the computer that it resides on. The current computer will not have it on there when the switch is made so this is not a way to get it onto two computers.

Also, does this mean I have to re-register?

I haven’t had to do that in a while, so let’s take a stab:

I’d install AE from the install discs on the new computer.
Then I’d copy the third-party plugs from the old to the new.
Then I’d launch AE on the new box, to see if I get any plugin erros. I’d probably have to try the effects to see if they’re disabled. If so, I’d find the appropriate installers and install. I think you won’t have to do that. Maybe.
I’d also copy over all fonts and relevant footage sources.
Then I’d open up a project and test.

Once it’s working fine, I’d delete the stuff on the old box.

No, you won’t have to re-register.

Thanks for the information. I will follow that process once it gets in house.
