    Hi There,
We’re trying to move a Final cut project to Premiere on a PC system.

Here’s what I did: exported the FC project as xml, then opened PP CS5.5 on the mac, imported the xml into premiere. Came in perfectly. Then, saved the project, moved all the media and project files to the PC system and tried to open the PP project. The project opened but wouldn’t link to the media. This project comprised a mix of XDCAM EX footage and dslr transcoded to pro res LT (using the final cut log and transfer plug in from canon).

The PC will play the xdcam and pro res media, so it’s not a codec problem. It just won’t re link to the media. We tried offlining the media and re linking to no avail.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Hey, I realize you may have sorted this out already (I hope you did).

I use this type workflow all the time. Try cutting out the premiere on the Mac part of your process.

I routinely import fcp xml files directly into premiere on a pc and have no problems. You may need to re-link the media, but I have always had 100% success.

    Hey Erik,
Thanks for your response. The Pc system in question is my client’s, and no, we haven’t resolved the issue yet. I’m going to have him have a go with your suggestion. I’m hopeful it will work.
    Thanks!
    Bob
