Movie Studio Platinum 12 crashes when previewing/rendering
It seems whenever the project I’m working on starts to get big, Movie Studio crashes. It generally does this when I attempt to play the preview or render. Up until this arbitrary point it’ll work just fine; there’s no sign of any slow down or issues, it’ll work perfectly until out of the blue it’ll just start crashing and crashing and crashing to the point that working on the project further becomes almost impossible.
I have a feeling it has to do with the wmv files that I’m using; I noticed when the message comes up to ask if I want to send Sony an error report, under the details it says that wmvencod.dll seems to be causing the issue. Doesn’t say WHAT is wrong with it though.
Sony hasn’t been any help. If anyone has any possible solutions for me, I would be most appreciative.

– Windows 7 Home Premium (6.1, build 7601)
– Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68M-D2H
– CPU: Intel Core i5-2500 @ 3.30GHz
– Memory: 8192MB (8GB) RAM
– GPU: NVIGIA GeForece GTX 560 Ti -

Would it behave better if you rendered to a different encoder? Or changed the project properties?

Actually, it did kinda help changing the wmvs into mpegs, for a little while. After awhile it started crashing again whenever I try to play a preview.
Now the fault module has been changed to moviestudioplatinum120k.dll
